Inter-communal violence in Sudan`s turbulent Darfur region has left nearly 250 people killed, including at least ten children, and forced some 100,000 to flee their homes, according to the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, and other relief organisations. The clashes, spread over three days at two locations last week, left scores of properties destroyed or burned to the ground. Of the estimated 100,000 who fled their homes, about 3,500 crossed the border into eastern Chad, the UN agencies said over the weekend.
